No matter what your hair type is, follow these simple dos and don’ts for happier, healthier and more manageable hair.
1. DON’T WASH YOUR HAIR WITH HOT WATER
The use of hot water on your scalp will dry out your hair and cause tangles, resulting in excessive hair loss and breakage.
2. DO MASSAGE YOUR SCALP TO ENCOURAGE CIRCULATION
Massage your scalp while you shampoo to promote blood circulation, prevent hair loss, and detoxify your scalp. The best way to make your hair look beautiful is to maintain a healthy scalp. It is also important to shampoo and condition your hair correctly to keep it healthy.
3. DON’T USE SHAMPOOS THAT CONTAIN SULPHATE
Shampoos that contain sulphates can be harmful to your hair, causing excessive hair loss, stripping the skin of oil, and causing breakage. Using them is definitely not recommended if you have coloured your hair. Sulphate-free shampoos are much gentler and keep the cuticles tighter, which prevents the hair colour from fading.
4. DO TOWEL DRY BEFORE APPLYING CONDITIONER
Gently towel dry your hair after shampooing and before applying conditioner. Excessive water in the hair prevents the conditioner from penetrating the hair shaft and delivering the moisture that the hair needs.
5. DON’T CONDITION YOUR ROOTS, JUST YOUR ENDS
If you apply conditioner to the roots of your hair, it can weigh them down and make them appear greasy, even after you wash it. To prevent both, conditioner should only be applied to the lengths and ends.
